a dilemma I haven't had in years

Holiday party at work today; we actually always have a good spread, starting with fancy coffee, two kinds of biscuits (sundried tomato with dill cream cheese, and ham), and clementines. Then lunch (big buffet), and Greedy Santa (I got a table top ping pong set, which is totally totally destined to be set up on one of the big tables in the conference room. So, nice day all around.

MADE EVEN NICER, though, by the fact that we got christmas bonuses. which we haven't gotten in, oh, I think maybe 8 years? The directors walked around during lunch handing out christmas cards, and there was actual cash inside. (did everyone get the same amount? I wonder).

anyway. so the dilemma: I haven't done most of my christmas shopping yet -- I start full force tonight. I have also been eyeing a new iPod Nano for quite a few weeks....but it's almost time to pay for next year's CSA, and that would be a good thing to use the christmas cash that will undoubtedly come from my dad, even though I could also use it for an iPod, but now I have this extra cash in hand.

So do I behave responsibly and finish all my christmas shopping before buying something for myself? Or do I stop by the Apple Store tonight when I'm out and about......

(really, one of the better dilemmas I can think of having.)
